Johannes Rochhausen: POV
11 January – 5 April 2025

In his paintings, Johannes Rochhausen provides intimate glimpses into his studio. A place that otherwise remains hidden from the outside world. Sensitive to nuances, he depicts his immediate surroundings and reproduces the special atmosphere of the space and light. A view out of the studio window, into the room or onto a bookshelf with CD Rolingen, charging station and personal memorabilia – it seems as if you were there yourself.
Johannes Rochhausen, born in Leipzig in 1981, lives and works in Leipzig. From 2001 to 2009, he studied at the Academy of Visual Arts (HGB) in Leipzig under Arno Rink and Neo Rauch, graduating as a master student. In 2013 he received the ISCP working scholarship from the Free State of Saxony in New York. Johannes Rochhausen has had exhibitions at the Museum der bildenden Künste, Leipzig, the MEWO Kunsthalle Memmingen, the Museum Gunzenhauser, Chemnitz, the Drents Museum, Assen, and the Künstlerhaus Göttingen. His works are represented in public collections such as the Museum der bildenden Künste, Leipzig, the Museum am Dom, Würzburg and the Von der Heydt-Museum, Wuppertal.
