Elektra’s works are reflections on encounters with the world and with others. They resemble a fleeting yet intense exchange of glances with a stranger – a moment in which time seems to stand still and everything else fades into the background.

As the world rushes inexorably past, impressions, memories and emotions coalesce into an intense experience. A scent, a glint of light, a long-forgotten memory surface and then vanish again. For a moment, a space opens up between perception and memory, before reality catches up with the viewer once more.

Shaped by the summers of her childhood in Greece, her works embody the atmosphere of the Mani Peninsula in the south of the Peloponnese: a landscape between sea and rock, rugged yet of great beauty. Like the rugged coastline, her images elude a single interpretation and remain open to projections, memories and associations.

This ambivalence is also evident in the exploration of the balance between gesture and abstraction, between delicate veils of colour and powerful charcoal strokes.

In this way, landscape and encounter become related experiences. In her works, Elektra captures precisely this moment: the fleeting state between approach and loss, in which the world unfolds its full intensity for an instant.
